Abstract
Objectives: This study was examined to investigate the levels of symptom, fatigue and quality of life in patients with colorectal cancer during chemotherapy using FOLFOX, and to identify the fitness of a longitudinal path model of variables.

Method: The number of subjects were 31. Data were collected from February 15 to November 27, 2013. The measurements were taken five times in total. Data were analyzed with IBM SPSS 20.0 and LISREL 8.8 programs.

Results: Symptom and fatigue increased significantly over the chemotherapy cycles and influenced on the symptom of the next chemotherapy cycle. Quality of life influenced on the quality of life of the next chemotherapy cycle. The longitudinal path model of symptom, fatigue and quality of life of subjects was a good fit with the model (Q=1.54, GFI=0.92, AGFI=0.88, RMSEA=0.05).

Conclusions: The results of this study indicate that colorectal cancer patients¡¯s symptoms, fatigue and quality of life can be changed over the chemotherapy cycle and can be influenced on symptoms, fatigue and quality of life of the next cycle. Thus there is a need to perform timely nursing interventions continuously, and to develop nursing intervention program to improve the symptoms, fatigue and quality of life of colorectal cancer patients during chemotherapy cycle.
